Holiday Club Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost? Nothing it is free
What does my child to bring? Nothing but themselves! You might consider a water bottle if they would like their own, any medication they might need during the afternoon, and a coat if it looks like rain
Should I stay or should I go? It is up to you! Parents and carers are welcome to stay, especially if they have young children. We will provide tea/ coffee and cake for adults when we go over to the centre after the first part of our time, which is in the church.
Will it be possible for siblings or friends to be together? Yes. Although we make up the groups based on age, we know it can be important for siblings and friends to be together, so we can accommodate that where needed
Not all my children are in primary school can they still come?
Yes our oldest groups can go up to S1 or S2 and our youngest down to independent 4-year-olds . You would be welcome to stay with babies and toddlers; there will be some toys available.
How do I know my child will be safe?
We take safety very seriously. All our volunteers are either members of our congregation or youth group. All child-facing volunteers are part of the Church of Scotland’s PVG scheme and most have had recent fresher training on safeguarding. We have a dedicated First Aider and have carried out a risk assessment.
My Child has allergies. How will you look after them?
There is a section on the registration form to tell us. This information is passed to our First Aider and their group leader. We do serve snacks – fruit, crisps and similar savoury snacks, biscuits and a fruit shoot type drink which the children choose from. We try to ensure all our snacks are nut-free . If a free choice is not suitable for your child let us know.
